Use Linux

So, I think my linux install was crippled by a bad disc. At least, a poorly formatted disc
what is the best way to completly format an old disc? Wipe it clean and prep it for a new install, of whateve os?

I have Winxp discs, no floopy drives and external USB enclosures.

I do believe you'll need a floppy drive, internal or not, to do it correctly.

If you have the WinXP install CD you should be able to boot into WinXP setup and when you get to the drive format/partition page you can kill any exisiting partition and if you would like format the drive then just exit setup.

Once the partitions are killed you should be able to load whatever you want on the drive.
