VGA

#1 Post by zangeena » Wed Feb 03, 2010 2:17 am

How do I record my Tv onto my Computer with a VGA cable? I have bought the correct cables to do this, hooked them up, but i don't know whats wrong. I hooked my VGA Male cable into my Samsung Tv and had the converted Female end hooked into my hard drive. No new software is showing up. What should i do?

You cannot record any video to a computer (I assume a Thinkpad laptop) using a VGA cable. The VGA port on the laptop is output only, cannot be used as input.

A select few Thinkpads (A31p for instance) had S-video ports that could be used both for input and output.
