Why doesn't Access Connections 3.7 work on my machine?

#1 Post by RBob » Sun Feb 27, 2005 12:50 pm

I have an R51 (1836H7U) with Intel 2200BG with current drivers, which the README file says should work.

When I try to run the new Access Connections 3.7, it starts up OK, establishes the connection to my network just fine, but then all three components (the two system tray icons and the program itself) all die in succession. The network connection continues to work OK (I'm using it right now).

I tried a full uninstall followed by a clean install, rebuilding just the single WiFi profile I'm using now, but that didn't help.

Suggestions?

I had that same symptom once on my T41 upon initial install. Once I restarted from a cold start, it was fine, and directly after, IBM issued a revision to my 11 a/b/g card. I installed that and all has been well. AC Version 3.7 is working out fine on this laptop. ... JD Hurst

Did a full uninstall of AC 3.5, deleted the 2200BG from device manager and rebooted. The 2200BG was automatically detected and re-installed, then did an install of AC 3.7 and it now seems to work just fine.

Go figure ...
