Windows XP startup

#1 Post by Me2 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 7:57 pm

I just got my computer back from being worked on. Now whenever I turn it on after the Thinkpad screen (where it says to interrupt normal startup push the blue thinkpad button), a screen shows up that asks me to select which I want to start
-Windows xp recovery console
-Windows xp professional

How can I get rid of this screen so I can just go straight to windows xp professional?

Edit c:\boot.ini so it has only one option and looks like the Sample boot.ini file here:

What about just unchecking the box that says time to display list of operating systems in the startup and recovery dialog box under system startup?

Don't know what happens then, but feel free to try it...
AFAIK you need to set the show-time to 0 seconds.
