What Happened to Task Manager?

#1 Post by jfsmith » Mon Jun 07, 2010 5:42 pm

Maybe a dumb question, but all of a sudden, using CTRL-ALT-Delete on my R-50e no longer opens Task Manager. Instead, it opens a window with no title that lists any operating programs and permits task switching. To compound the situation, this phantom window cannot be closed by the normal Windows method. I have to use a program called "ClickGone" to close it. Suggestions?

Double-click anywhere in the area of the "border" that surrounds the window; normally the gray area. Task Manager has been set to display in this minimal format by a previous double-click in that same area. It's not all that intuitive to figure out what has happened unless you've done this by accident before :) .

Ray,

I can't believe -- after all these years of playing with Windows -- I've never run into this one before! Thanks a million -- that fixed it ...
