T22/W2k drivers
T22/W2k drivers
Hi there,
I have just installed W2k onto an active partition on C:/ I have W98SE on the other active/hidden partition on C:/
I was under the impression that W2k saw and installed all the drivers, etc. (or am I missing something) My screen resolution is only 600x800, 16 colours, the modem nor Ethernet combo card have been detected so I am unable to connect to the Internet.
I have back-ups for all the drivers but W2k does not seem to like them or tells me that they are not correct.
My T22 has a 'Designed for W2k and W98' sticker on the front; what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Rex

Go to the IBM site and download the graphics driver for your thinkpad. I recall doing/having the same thing in the past with T22's. What else is missing? Go into Device Manager and look for the exclamation mark(s). Seems there were a few other things I had to download too. But in the end, all will work. I recommend while you're at the IBM site, downloading the Battery Maximizer and the Thinkpad Utilities program and install them too. I believe that you have to insall the Utilities program before the Bat.Max. program for it to work correctly. Other than these, other programs/drivers are optional, if my memory serves me right...but worth upgrading to.
Good luck!

MadeInJapan,
Thanks for the reply. Am slowly getting things working but it sure ain't easy!
Have internet connection via ethernet but cannot get OutlookExpress up and running. The Connection Wizard looks for a modem and does not find one. If I select the Ethernet/Modem combo card that is the ethernet hardware, I get the mesage that it is not the right card.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
