X210 and Linux: snd_hda_codec_generic hdaudioC0D2: Unable to sync register 0x2f0d00. -11

#1 Post by L29Ah » Wed May 15, 2019 10:27 pm

My kernel hangs for a ~minute at each suspend/resume producing this message in `dmesg`, unless i `rmmod snd-hda-intel` (and lose all the sound I/O of course). Have anyone encountered this? Can it be helped?

Also, the driver whines something about polling at each boot:
[ 10.328991] snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1f.3: azx_get_response timeout, switching to polling mode: last cmd=0x20270503
[ 11.338929] snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1f.3: No response from codec, disabling MSI: last cmd=0x20270503
X210; X230 with coreboot and nitrocaster's FHD mod as a backup; R500 for guests; T60 just for the looks.

Suspend/resume works very well to me. The only issue, I have, is related to the EC: the mouse pointer makes some jumps and random clicks on resume. And external mouse is buggy unless I touch the trackpoint.
Which kernel version are you using?
Are you using any uncommon patches?
Post the kernel config, please.

I observe the same trackpoint pointer problems.

OK. I'll test your config with vanilla kernel. (No plans to install gentoo now).

The patch should not do anything affecting the behaviour anyway, the kernel is otherwise vanilla, and also the kernel used to work well for X201 and X230.
