T700 lid sensor

Hi,

Recently got my t700! And the lid sensor does not work, even worse, it says the lid is always closed causing the system to shut down.
It came with pre-installed Windows that worked fine, but I do not know if it was programmatically disabled or actually did work -- I replaced the OS without having a chance to look closer.
Anyone else seeing similar problem? Any ideas how to fix?
