Test Batch with Skylake CPU Change your Graphics config.
Post-installation tweaks
A few required or otherwise useful steps to take on a running macOS system on your ThinkPad:
Using your own serial number
Just generate a new set with Clover Configurator and you're good to go
Disabling Power-related Settings
In order to achieve a stable sleep, you're responsible of disabling the following:
Power Nap (if available)
Wake for Internet Access
tcpkeepalive (hint: sudo pmset -a tcpkeepalive 0)
Brightness Control
Use Brightness Slider from App Store. Partially works but it's inverted. Unfortunately native brightness control isn't supported at this moment, interested developers might want to take a look at the DSDT and PNLF.
Middle Button Scrolling
Use Smart Scroll.
The TrackPoint & Sleep Experiment
Using VoodooPS2, whether acidanthera or RehabMan's, will have 3 types of different results that happen randomly on each cold boot: TrackPoint only, TrackPad only, and Both.
When TrackPoint is made working by VoodooPS2, Wake from Sleep will NOT work, resulting in a system-wide panic.
However, when TrackPad is only in use, Wake from Sleep will work. The TrackPad is 1-finger only.
A better solution is using the legacy ApplePS2SmartTouchPad driver, which allows ONLY TrackPoint to work, but the Wake issue is fixed this way.
The default way is VoodooPS2 as ApplePS2SmartTouchPad might not work in future macOS updates. You can disable all VoodooPS2-related kexts and update the config.plist with Latest ApplePS2SmartTouchPad
51nb-specific issues (aka: reboot after sleep blackscreen)
This is a known issue among every single 51nb ThinkPad hackintoshes that I own: X62, X210 and T70. Even under Windows, sometimes the same issue can still be repeated. The workaround has not been found and the only temp fix is to press Fn+F4, wait for several sec, then press power key after the OS entered userspace. Problem is caused by 51nb's faulty ACPI implementation.
X2100 (which sadly I don't own), however, doesn't seem to have this issue. The backlight implementation on X2100 also seems to be very standard. The difference between the old and new implementations is still not found.
What works
Full hardware acceleration
Audio
Battery reading and charging recognition
USB-A ports
CPU Temperature and voltage/wattage reading
Sleep
Mini DP and VGA output
What's untested
Hibernation
What's not yet working
Native Brightness Control
Full UltraNav implementation (reason: bad BIOS support)
51nb specific issues
What will never* work
Fingerprint
* Not unless someone decides to make custom kexts for these, of course.
