Thinkpad P70

#1 Post by Sepy » Sun Dec 13, 2015 11:46 am

Hi,

I have ordered a ThinkPad P70 and its docking station in Switzerland. It's on its way now.

I have some questions regarding it.

1- My ThinkPad P70 second hard drive is 500GB HD 7200RPM (no other option possible). It is under the battery. Can I just take that out and replace it with Samsung SSD drive in the same bracket?

2- I’m thinking of ordering this backpack.

Do you think the ThinkPad P70 will fit in it?

3- What is maximum resolution with 2 monitors connected to docking station?

4- What is the maximum resolution with 1 monitor connected to docking station?

Thanks Sepy
P.S. Bill if you are reading this I hope you are well. It has been a long time my friend.

Hello, Sepy - I am thinking of getting a couple Px0 machines. One to replace my aging W510, in which I have 32GB and a Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB. The P70 seems like a ghost machine - nothing in the way of reviews, or much on-line discussion. I see your post here got no replies, so I wonder if you could tell us how you like it - is it the Beast is could be? What's the good, bad, and ugly?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas or whatever holidays you celebrate!

That's maybe just due to the lack of multilingual awareness, but then again it is available and distributed since only short time.

For those who can manage German language to a sufficient degree, have a look at https://thinkpad-forum.de/threads/189821 and thinkpad-forum.de/threads/194034 for discussion and review.
A few 14.1" and 15" T61+ Frankenpads and one T480
