P40 Yoga
P40 Yoga
Thoughts on the P40 Yoga? What GTX consumer card is it's Quadro graphics card equivalent to? I was thinking of one to try out a yoga but don't know if that's a good choice... Also they don't have xenon or quad core i7 do they like the w450/w451/p50?

Re: P40 Yoga
Looks like an underpowered, but a lightweight 'workstation'. I never understood the idea of a lightweight workstation, though I suppose everyone has their own strange preferences for a machine.
The consumer equivalent for the Quadro M500M (a rebranded Quadro K620M) graphics chip, is the GeForce 840M.
Yes, they don't have a Xeon or a quad-core i7. Those processors would have produced too much heat for the P40 Yoga's chassis to handle.
If I may ask, why are you interested in a Yoga? Other than the 360-degree hinge it offers, they are nothing special compared to any other laptop of its class.

Re: P40 Yoga
Perhaps you can compare X1 Yoga vs X1 Extreme (or the P1) now that the latter is out!
Don't think there are many X1 Yoga users on this forum unfortunately...
We did previously compare X1 Carbon vs X1 Yoga (the consumer version of Yoga, not the P40),
and we found that an upgraded X1 Yoga is about 10%-15% more expensive than an
upgraded X1 Carbon with the same upgraded spec (more RAM, bigger SSD, faster CPU).
So we settled with X1 Carbon instead, since more cost effective!
We did like the built-in pen input on X1 Yoga.

Re: P40 Yoga
If you want a true portable workstation I would go with W541/P50/P1. Those have way more power than a P40 yoga.
