I'm considering ordering a P72.
I found two reviews saying the Keyboard is not good for typing and is difficult to use.

1. Does anyone have any information about the P72 Keyboard ?
2. How can the Keyboard be checked prior to purchase.
3. Where can a P72 be seen, in-person, to see for certain ?

Any input or guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have a P70 but not a 72 and the keyboard is pretty good but I think some other Thinkpads have a bit better keyboards. Trackpoint buttons are a bit wierd though.

You can check to see if there's an Official Lenovo Brand Store in your area;
I just went there today to spend some quality keyboard time with the X1 Extreme vs P52.

1. You can also Google up P72 keyboard photos, something like "pictures ThinkPad P72 keyboard".

2. You can also Google for "Hands On Review ThinkPad P72", which yielded below links with some pictures of P72 keyboard:

Thanks you very much w0qj

I see the pictures of the keyboard, and see those and other reviews say the keyboard is, "Wierd, Unusual, and not good for typing fast or comfortably".
So I wanted to try the keyboard in-person, because I do like everything else about the P72.

So then, Lenovo provided me the name of few local Lenovo seller (there aren't many Lenovo sellers here in South Florida). That sellers said they don't have the P72 in-stock, and don't think most any seller would have it in-stock, being it's an uncommon, specialty laptop.

So, I'm thinking of ordering one and testing it. Lenovo said it could take a few weeks to build and ship from China.
Thank you. And if anyone else has ideas, kindly post.

Thanks !

I tried both the X1 Extreme and P52 keyboard at the Official Lenovo Brand Store in my area.
(You will note that P72 is the same generation as P52, and also X1 Extreme).

Both above keyboards are slightly stiffer to press than what I've been accustomed to for X1 Carbon 4th Generation.

But to me, this slightly stiffer keyboard is actually for the better.

I voted with my wallet, kudos to Official Lenovo Brand Store for their good service, and procured a unit of X1 Extreme today ;)

Anyways, have FUN trying out your P72 soon!
(I'll get mine at around the same time as yours!)
