15 inch ThinkPad purchase guidance

#1 Post by JayNYC » Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:28 pm

So, November 2019, is there a 15” ThinkPad with:

*centered keyboard (no numpad)
*Standard size RJ45 jack
*1080P or 4K screen with ~90% or better SRGB coverage

Thanks

not sure about the RJ 45, you will need to check yourself on the images, but here are the models that might have all you need P43s or T490s, but as th number says, they are 14 in, not 15in
the X1E and P1, which are the only 15 inchers with no numpad also dont have the RJ 45, thats for sure
by the way, who da hell still needs an RJ 45 in 2019
the way I see it, is you either go for 15 in with no numpad and accept dongle in your life for the RJ45, or you scale back to 14in

P1 and X1 (gens 1 and 2) cover all the criteria except for the RJ45 (however an adapter from lenovo's proprietary Ethernet to RJ45 is included in the box AFAIK.

As for centered keyboards and these feature, it doesnt exist at the moment.
T43p (15" UXGA, SATA-modded)
T601p (14.1" LED)
T601 (dead, 14.1" LED)
T601 (15" SXGA+ FlexView)
T60p DEMO-2007OVU (15" UXGA FlexView, ATI's prototype machine)
X230 (i7, 16gb RAM, 500 gb SSD, IPS)
P53 (RMAed for dead pixels
