P53 - 5ghz no longer working

#1 Post by H-Atkinson » Fri Jun 18, 2021 3:38 pm

My P53, seemingly at random, has lost the ability to see 5ghz networks. I think it may have something to do with Windows 10 21H1, but I'm not certain. I've tried 19.x, 20.x, 21.x, and 22.x variants of both Lenovo and Intel's AX200 driver variants with no effect. I just cannot see 5ghz networks anymore, and my 2.4ghz networking is now spotty, often requiring me to re-input my WiFi password after the computer is in sleep mode.

Any clues? I know its not my router since it works fine with other WiFi 6 devices like my Samsung S10 as well as with older Thinkpads that have AC wifi like my T480 and T61p. I'm pretty sure that its something to do with the AX200 drivers as my aforementioned various other devices work fine.

I'm also not certain that its Windows 10 21H1's fault either as another Intel AX200 card (same model) in a friend's MSI laptop started doing the same thing a few days later, when he asked me for help, I verified with him that he had not gone to 21H1.

Anyone else seen this? I'm stumped.

Is your AX200 a cheap/fake 'engineering sample' with bad soldering?
Those have only 1 antenna connected.
