Replacement P1Gen3 UK keyboard

#1 Post by wookey » Sat Dec 24, 2022 10:58 pm

My trackpoint has died, and now also my PgUp key, which is quite tiresome.
Lenovo.com says that the FRU for this 20TJ model is 5M10Z39669 'C-cover plus keyboard'. That seems to cost about £230.
But it seems to be easy to buy just a keyboard along for US keyboards, such as: https://www.myfixguide.com/store/keyboa ... inkpad-p1/
For a much more reasonable £60
Is it possible to buy just the keyboard in the UK version, or is there some reason why the whole fascia has to be changed along with the keyboard?
The service manual does not show a pic of the keyboard, so does not clarify this matter. It mostly just tells you 'remove absolutely everything to get to the keyboard' :-)
I much prefer the older designs where the kayboard+trackpoint came out the front.

They advertise your P1Gen3 keyboard as also fitting a T14sGen1, e.g. here: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/284955814517
Google for T14s_gen1_x13_gen1_hmm_en.pdf where you can see KB-only instructions from page 72 onward.
