ThinkPad P1 GEN 1 BEEPS

#1 Post by kanteiniii » Fri Sep 08, 2023 9:27 am

Hi everyone !

Hope you're doing well. For me, I'm in trouble with my P1, the laptop boot up, make 2 beeps then he shutdown. He restart by it's own and then make 4 beeps and stay on.

Does anyone know what's the trouble with it ? By the way, if I remove the RAM, Lenovo Smart Beeps respond by a code. However, the 2 and 4 beeps are standard BIOS beeps.

Screen is black btw.

Thanks for your help !
Merci de votre aide !

Hi there,

Unfortunately it seems that the HMM for Thinkpad P1 only mentions SmartBeep symptoms.

So after the automatic reset, there are 4 beeps, black screen, and boot does not continue. Am I correct?

Are these short beeps or long ones?

Do you have anything attached to the laptop? I would try disconnecting every external peripheral (docks, USB devices, etc.), just in case.
