WWAN module

#1 Post by globba » Wed Dec 23, 2020 4:55 am

I have Thinkpad T15 Gen1 20S60022RT .

This model has a SIM card slot and a place to install a wwan module (also antennas cables laid)

I also have a wwan module Lenovo ThinkPad EM7345 4G LTE (from the older model of notebook).
Will this module work in my T45?

Thanks!

Which T14 (Gen1 or Gen2) do you have?

Perhaps download and examining the HMM (Hardware Maintenance Manual) for your ThinkPad model might indicate which WWAN (Mobile Broadband) modules are supported.

ThinkPad models do have a "whitelist" of which ones are allowied.
ie: non-listed WWAN modules might not be accepted for use.

Also, different ThinkPad models use different WWAN modules.
For example, our X1C4 (X1 Carbon Gen 4) has WWAN module from Sierra Wireless EM7455 which is also a 4G WWAN modem.

Good luck!
