How to update T14 BIOS from Linux
How to update T14 BIOS from Linux
I've got Ubuntu 21.10 installed on my T14 and nothing else. How can I update the BIOS? From here https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/down ... -20ud-20ue I've downloaded r1buj67wd.iso (Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 1 20S0004SUS). I suppose I need to get it onto a USB drive.

Many Linux distros have the fwupd utility for firmware flashing in Linux.

Actually, I couldn't get the Lenovo download iso to do anything anyhow. However the fwupd worked like a charm and went immediately to work in an all-knowing, all-anticipating way. It's definitely the way to fly if you're on Thinkpads and using Linux like me. https://linoxide.com/how-to-update-firm ... ing-fwupd/

Good to hear. That said, I read a bug report on fwupd's github where a T14 AMD got bricked after a BIOS update through fwupd.Olwe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:03 pmActually, I couldn't get the Lenovo download iso to do anything anyhow.
