T14 amd Gen1 cursor haywire with trackpoint

#1 Post by Masi_K » Fri Sep 01, 2023 2:19 pm

Hi.
Just recently cursor has gone wonky. All the sudden in the middle of cursor movement it wants to go anywhere else than what I want to. It stops in a few seconds. All of these years with T series and one W laptop I have encoutered this once a while. So no big deal. But with T14 it is crazy and it triggers on several times in a minute. But it might take hours to first kick on. What is going on ?

I have read something about a synaptic driver bug few years back. But I don't think it is the same thing.
Machine is up to date via Vantage and Windows.
I only use trackpoint and pad is disabled.

Please check that you indeed have the latest Synaptics drivers and firmware.
I wouldn't trust Lenono Vantage to do a proper job.

Hi
According to vantage, that firmware was installed in january 2023. There were no issues until lets say last couple of weeks.
