How to reactivate WWAN / mobile broadband card?

#1 Post by BigCatAndy » Sun Oct 14, 2018 1:25 am

Hello, I have Thinkpad X60 with Sierra Wireless MC8755 as WWAN / UMTS modem. I installed Linux Mint 18 with XFCE, I could see this card with "lsusb" and also in the "NEtwork manager" applet. Then I occasionally unchecked "enable mobile broadband" - and my card disappeared. Completely. Also from the "lsusb"-results.

Unfortunately, I found no way to reactivate the card. "Modem manager" does not show my card too. Can anyone give a hint, how to reactivate the WWAN card?

Thanks in advance,
Andrey

Hello, I checked it (the thread is more than 10 years old), but I found no information about re-enabling of the card under Linux Mint. Could you please specify the number of the answer which is relevant for me?

Thanks inadvance,
Andrey

I don't know if any of it is relevant. It was all I could find on this card and I don't know anything about the card or how to re-activate it.
