Thinkpad W700ds. Installed systems are Debian and Kali Linux. At startup the expected Thinkpad entry screen appears for ca 2 sec. Blindly I can select either system. On Kali the secondary screen had been activated and there the (verbose) boot sequece is beeing displayed. I can log in and thereafter the secondary screen shows my Kali background color. Meanwhile the main screen remains black.
I go to sleep mode via Fn + F4. After wakeup via Fn the main screen wakes up for about two sec, and the goes black again.
With Debian the secondare screen had not been activated. However I can SSH from a separate machine and work on the terminal. From 'dmesg' I get no clue.
How should I proceed?
Thanks and watch your health.
Are you using lightdm? The fix is the following, create /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf and add the following:
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Reboot your machine and all should work fine...
ThinkPad X230: i5-3320M CPU 3.3GHz - 8GB RAM 1600 MHz - SSD 860 EVO 500GB - Debian - ME_cleaned
