2 laptop_mode issues

#1 Post by alefried » Thu Dec 15, 2011 8:04 pm

hi,
trying to reduce power consumption on my brand new T420i, i turned to laptop_mode
I think i have two issues with it, here is the end of the output :

Code: Select all

On battery: setting power saving mode for wlan0 to on.
Error for wireless request "Set Power Management" (8B2C) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.
Failed.
Module /usr/local/lib/laptop-mode-tools/modules/* is not executable or is to be skipped.
Module /usr/local/share/laptop-mode-tools/modules/* is not executable or is to be skipped.
Module /etc/laptop-mode/modules/* is not executable or is to be skipped.
Do you know, how to enable the power_saving feature of the wifi radio ?
also, i am wondering why the different modules folders mentioned above are either empty or absent ... ?
strange isn't it ?

i am happy with my laptop and linux, but when it comes to power management, it becomes tough :p
