using tablet function of X60t under linux LMDE

Going to repost a question from the X60 section that probably fits better here.
Original thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=102054
Recently picked up a free to me X60tablet and have been learning linux. I have Mint Debian Edition running and it seems to be fine. No real mods to anything.
But I want to be able to use the tablet screen and the screen bezel mounted buttons, for websurfing at the very least, annotating .pdf files would be awesome, but not expected.
What's the best way to do this? I've been reading everything I can and it seems as if the thinkpad-acpi will have everything I need to get the buttons working. If I can figure out how to get it all configured.
I'm a linux noob, haven't coded in probably 20 years, but am not afraid to take a stab at it.
Is everything I need available at the thinkwiki site? or are there better places for more specific info?
