Which version is best for T30s?

#1 Post by newyorkpaulie » Sat Mar 17, 2012 9:59 am

I had been using Linux Mint 8 but when it became unsupported as to updates I moved up to 10 (Julia). Are there any other T30 Linux users? If so, what are your preferences. Thanks.

I run Mint (currently still 11) on A31p which is very similar to T30 hardware-wise.

Happy camper here, apart from very limited battery life (which isn't great on A31p to begin with) and fan which seems to be more active than in XP.

I tried 12, but get the no menu/taskbar issue that is mentioned by many on the forums, so I am currently moving up to 11. It seems to be shaping up as my new OS. Thanks for replying to my post. :D

In the past when I had multiple T30's I have/had run/ran uBuntu, Macbuntu and Debian. Im down to just a single T30 now, and it has uBuntu on it. That said, I still have several X30 and X31's floating around with Macbuntu and uBuntu on them. The 31 is is a small version on the T30 for the sake of argument. I have run Fedora, Red Hat and Jolicloud. Just "tend" to like the Buntu variants.
