ACPI can't dock, and thinkpad_ec / tp_smapi no such device

Hi, I have RHEL 6.3 on a T420. Now just about everything works except for kmod-tp_smapi-0.40-2.el6.x86_64 which fails with -

Linux oc8015054656.ibm.com 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jun 20 01:32:12 EDT 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

suresh@oc8015054656 07:18:53 :~$ sudo modprobe tp_smapi
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/ibm-sound.conf.oc, it will be ignored in a future release.
FATAL: Error inserting tp_smapi (/lib/modules/2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64/extra/tp_smapi/tp_smapi.ko): No such device

suresh@oc8015054656 07:19:30 :~$ sudo modprobe thinkpad_ec
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/ibm-sound.conf.oc, it will be ignored in a future release.
FATAL: Error inserting thinkpad_ec (/lib/modules/2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64/extra/tp_smapi/thinkpad_ec.ko): No such device

The other issue is that the thinkpad doesn't hibernate - ACPI - cannot dock. Funny = I don't have any docking station attached. All I have is a USB hard disk plugged into my thinkpad. However, acpi does detect a docking device ..

suresh@oc8015054656 08:06:34 :~$ dmesg |grep dock
ACPI: ACPI Dock Station Driver: 2 docks/bays found

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Thinkpad-acpi does say this - but I'm on 2.6.32 where they aren't used at all.

ATTENTION!
As of kernel 2.6.27 the thinkpad-acpi bay and dock drivers should no longer be used. Instead use the standard ACPI bay and dock drivers. As of kernel 2.6.31 the thinkpad-acpi bay and dock drivers have been removed completely.

thanks!
