t43p & Suse9.3 pro
Hi All,
As soon as I receive my t43p I will be partitioning my drive and installing Suse9.3 pro.
Has anyone had any problems or recommendations that I should know?
Thanks

I'm running FC4-test3 on a regular T43, these are the issues I've needed to address:
Suspend to RAM -- needed (experimental) patches to get working due to the disk being presented as a SATA device.
Suspend to disk -- have had to hardwire the ata-piix driver into my kernel to get this working (should work with initrd but I never managed it).
DMA on DVD drive -- need to disable the generic IDE drivers in the kernel config and patch the libata code to enable PATA support (experimental).
x300 graphics -- working but xorg log file reports that DRI not yet supported.
Fingerprint reader -- no linux support, but I enrolled fingerprints before overwriting the XP preinstall, and they work fine as boot time protection.
Have not tried the modem yet, bluetooth and wireless (madwifi) working fine...

I would install suse 9.3 on my t43p...
Actually I have 2 partition (3 with the hidden partition): c: NTFS 22Gb and d: NTFS 50Gb
Is correct, before install linux, to use partition magic and divide the "d" partition of 50gb in 2 partition: "d" of 35gb and a ew partition" of 15gb and install linux on this partition of 15gb???

You can also resize the partitions in the SuSE 9.3 installer program. I just added 9.3 to my XP SP2 install and everything went fine.
SuSE 9.3 runs really slow though, but it's a graphics issue, as the default install doesn't have 3D support for the X300. I assume there are some linux drivers out, but none were listed uder Yast like the Nvidia ones were.
I'll look into the graphics issues later this week.

I had Bluetooth turned off during the install of Suse 9.3 Pro.
It did however, recognize and correctly install both the Broadcom ethernet adapter & the Intel 2915 wireless card. The internet seemed really sluggish, but I think that was due to the lack of 3D accelleration mentioned above.
