#1 Post by jronald » Sat Dec 22, 2012 10:03 pm

OK Im running a Buntu 10.04 derivative, and of course it will no longer update itself. I really like the overlay and dont want to goob it. What are my options for updating it?

Thanks
Ron

I still have one computer using 10.04 and one using Mint Isadora (based on Lucid). They are both still getting updated. Lucid is supported until April 2013.

run "sudo apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade"

I would consider moving to 12.04 soon though. April is not too far away.

Ok ran the terminal and it has downloaded tons of things, as well as lots of 404's
Anyway what do I do with it after I have downloaded it?

Ron, after you apt-get update to download everything, run apt-get dist-upgrade to install the updates. If that doesn't work, you might be able to edit your sources list, and point to a newer version. But, that sometimes works for some people, and sometimes will mess things up royally.
