Ibm R32 & Linux using Trendet tew-441pc external card

#1 Post by txnative3 » Thu Mar 13, 2014 8:49 am

I was looking on Ebay & there is a Ibm R32 that is for sale it has displayed in the photo's the above external wifi card & the operating system looks like Ubuntu 11.04......do know from looking around that there is the 1802 error with using some internal wifi cards. This card is reasonably priced & better reception than a internal ......now is there any reason why instead of installing 11.04 ubuntu with unity ....that either 11.04 Xubuntu or 11.04 Lubuntu would play better on this machine & be able to find the drivers easier ? I have also seen where people used Puppy 4.2 on this laptop ....now have used Puppy Precise 5.7.1 to help me some when trying to see the specifics of certain items with hardware on different laptops, any reason why Puppy precise 5.7.1 would not work on this laptop.Still learning Linux but know how to google search & look in youtube also ....more support than windows & less headache, comments please .

Thanks chess
