X301 SSD running Crunchbang Waldorf - slow boot with errors

Greetings!

I've got an X301 with the original SSD, running Crunchbang - and am having a few problems that I'm hopeful of solving with your help.

Slow booting with errors. Takes about two minutes to boot, most of which is devoted to an error screen that I've never seen before - something along the lines of...

[ 11.540009] ata2: SRST failed (errno=-16)
[ 21.592008] ata2: SRST failed (errno=-16)

...which it repeats about five times then there's a bunch of stuff that quickly flashes by and it boots. Runs fine after that. I've got Crunchbang on two other machines and it works fine there also, without the extended boot drama. This is the third install on this machine with no improvement, and I've done the usual Google dance to no effect. It would help were I more knowledgeable of course, but one has to struggle and suffer to attain wisdom, and this is part of it :)

On another note, I'm not seeing the 320G hard drive in the ultrabay either.

Any thoughts you might have would be most appreciated. Other than those two problems, the machine is a dream - I'd like to get most out of it that I can. Thanks!

P.S. It occurs to me that there must be a way of viewing the error messages at boot, and I don't know what that is. Will look it up, but if someone wants to post it here, that would be lovely too.

Sounds like a weird ATA detection/configuration issue.
Have you tried booting without the Ultrabay HDD?

Nope, but will try it when I get back in a couple days and will post the results. Thanks!

SOLVED!
Apparently, the ultrabay drive had come loose and was wandering around inside the carrier, causing the machine to do odd things. Plugged it in tight, re-booted, and presto! All is well. Machine boots in about 10 seconds :)
