Just to make sure wacom-input is actually running, please do
both fresh after boot, and after running su and wacom-input. Does it return anything?
Most likely, though, wacom-input simply does not work with your hardware. Is your X61t finger-touch capable?

OK, pgrep wacom-input fresh after boot = 1999

wacom-input &>
= [1] 2482
THEN... pgrep wacom-input = 1999 2482
THEN....pgrep wacom-input & = [2] 2494
I hope these outputs mean more to you than they do to me...lol. Any ideas what is happening?
Also, my thinkpad is NOT finger touchable, just digitizer. Thank you for helping with this by the way, I don't do so good in understanding the terminal.

The output from pgrep means wacom-input is running fine, just not doing what it is supposed to do.
Unfortunately I can't offer any more help. I didn't write wacom-input, so I have no idea where to start troubleshooting beyond this.

No problem, thank you for the help. My "idea" was to get Android running so I could install Netflix.
Then I wouldn't have to use Windows 7/8 on this tablet at all since the wacom digitizer works perfectly under linux mint 17 Cinnamon.
The more I search for an all in 1 device, the more I'm liking the Samsung Galaxy note 10.
Since my "needs" are fairly simple I may just sell the thinkpad and go with the note 10.

Not working for me
My thinkpad is an X201 Tablet with Ubuntu 14.04 running natively. I'm attempting to install this iso:
android-x86-4.4-RC2-thinkpadtablet-20140522.iso
My VirtualBox settings for the Android install:
OS Type: Linux
Version: 2.6 / 3.x (32 bit)
Memory Size: 1GB
Hard drive file type: VDI (fixed size)
HD Size: 8GB
Screenshot of the settings:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/229 ... -x86/1.png
I can get to the blue install screen successfully, but after selecting install (or boot from live CD), I get a kernel panic:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/229 ... -x86/2.png
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/229 ... -x86/3.png
And turning on or off VT-x has no effect:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/229 ... -x86/4.png
Any suggestions? I've tried other iso images with no success also.

wacom-input works on my X200T... for some definition of "works"
It misses the last ~1/2" of the screen to the right, and the botom 1/2" as well, has a significant offset, and no amount of jacking with the calibration seems to help.
OTOH the latest kernels (32 or 64 bit) and the wacom pen work perfectly fine with inputattach, I just can't figure out how to make a proper git diff as the android-x86 tree is not really a git tree, it uses repo as a wrapper for git.
Wifi and BT are iffy on the latest kitkat-4.4.4 builds, but the Wacom pen works just peachy, I modded the build and the init.sh to load inputattach rather than wacom-input. (used the inputattach.c and serio.ids.h from linuxconsoleproject V1.47)

building your own android iso is one of the biggest pains in the universe. I may have mentioned. I think I also mentioned how the build team had mostly stopped making specific builds for certain machines e.g. asus, and was trying to incorporate people's porting work into a main universal image, and this never quite happened correctly with the X-tablet stuff.
as a couple people have mentioned - if you can get the vanilla image halfway working, to the point where you can start messing with the startup scripts, this can be a lot easier/faster. (although becomes an annoyance vs. upgrading to later releases)
possible good news for x220t owners, but not so helpful for pre-x220 machines:
so, Intel has, all along, been contributing bits of code here and there to the ax86 project. the relationship is a little unclear - I think it was part because, of course, they're required to publish certain GPL related things, and part because they were happy to see a community they could push code to and see it tested, and how it builds/breaks/etc.
but the overall reason behind this was clear from the beginning: Intel was building their own versions all along. and now it's available:
https://01.org/android-ia
(in fact they list builds dating back to 2012, but I feel this is the first I ever heard they were publicly available?)
any machine with UEFI and Sandy Bridge (or higher) should work ... in theory.
in the middle years, there are a bunch of "Generic UEFI" builds, and then the most recent 2014 ones go back to hardware-specific (Ivy Bridge, Haswell, Bay Trail).
if I can manage some courage, I'll consider trying either the 2/2013 x220t-specific build, or the 6/2013 Generic build. would love to hear anyone's experiences who dare to try this!!!

(duh, me: also the extremely obvious - that Intel received a lot of
very good code back from ax86)
ps some not terribly informative information here:
https://01.org/android-ia/guides/quick-start
https://01.org/android-ia/guides/devices/lenovo-x220t
https://01.org/android-ia/guides/devices/lenovo-x230t
the main reason I'm so hesitant, is that there is no safe "LiveCD" sort of mode like ax86 (and nearly every other lunix on the planet, ha) has -- installing the IA releases means complete wipe. eh, maybe if I get motivated to pop in a sacrificial disk.
all of the builds warn of pre-alpha buggy quality, but then again I've never gotten better than that from ax86 on a good day, with a lot of cursing and hard work and luck.

has anyone gotten both wacom touch AND the pen working at the same time?
(the wacom_w8001 kernel driver at least supports both, from reading the source)
I lack the hardware to test.
The latest 4.4 repo includes inputattach, it supports the pen properly (no calibration required, but it works), although it is only automagically enabled for some x200 models, its there and can be used.
Everything else works now as well.

I am trying to dual boot android-x86 and ubuntu 14.04 on my old x61s (I know, it's not a tablet, but android is such a compact and easy to use OS even though you practically open your soul to google.). Most of the versions downloaded from the android-x86 site would install and run immediately after installation, when it asks whether to run android now or exit. It would run nicely, though I haven't explored much more than set up wifi and connect to google. Version 4.4-r2, however, would hang at the android splash.
My problem is when I set up to boot from grub. The boot menu shows up ok with the android menu entry included. Here is the 40_custom file per direction from the android-x86 website:
#!/bin/sh
exec tail -n +3 $0
# This file provides an easy way to add custom menu entries. Simply type the
# menu entries you want to add after this comment. Be careful not to change
# the 'exec tail' line above.
menuentry "Android-x86" {
set root='(hd0,4)'
linux /android-x86-4.4-r1/kernel quiet root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=generic_x86 acpi_sleep=s3_bios,s3_mode SRC=/android-x86-4.4-r1
initrd /android-x86-4.4-r1/initrd.img
}
(I have tried various entries for "androidboot.hardware" without success.)
When I try to boot android, the thing goes blank (dark) and just returns to the boot menu. I tried your menu entry that was posted earlier with the same result. I do not think it is a H/W issue because it runs ok after installation.
what could be wrong? Please help.
Thanks.
Ok, scratch all that. I figured out how get grub to work. You have to determine the name of the folder installed in the root of the android partition. In my case it is "android-4.4-r1" , not "android-x86-4.4-r1" as the downloaded image file would suggest. So, 4.4-r1 works on my x61s, happy to report. Version 4.4-r2 still hangs at the android flash.
