T530 + WLAN Realtec in Centos 6.5: intermittent connection

Hi Thinpad users,

I have ongoing problems using Centos 6.5 on my T530:
Problem is the Realtec miniPCI seems not to supported well by its own driver.
The connection interrupts all the time (and enforces a reconnect).
The Realtec miniPCI is: RTL8188CE
The driver (module) is: r8192ce_pci
After a lot of reading I believe that the best solution would be to throw the Realtec away which seems not to be able to run properly in Linu systems and to buy a Intel Wifi.
Does anybody found out another solution on this specfic problem?

Hate to say it, but that's going to be your easiest/best solution. Just get a solid Intel card and call it a day. I've had good luck with both the Intel 6205 and 6300 cards (in a T520 and HP 8460w respectively).

Hi Sysiphus,

I followed your recommendation, bought a new Centrino WLAN with Lenovo branding from a Chinese seller (for about 12$ inclusive shipping) and voila: it worked with no additional effort!

Thank you for your advice!
:D :D
