hi all, i followed the guide by Edward to install ubuntu on my second HD (ultrabay 2000).

I installed GRUB on hdc1 (second hd)....all is well...

Is there anyway i can clone the second hd into a 7k60, put it in the second bay and boot as normal?

I tried to log in winxp, using acronis true image to make a image of the ubuntu hd, take it off, put the new hd in , restore the image to that hd and boot from the second HD but i have Error loading operating message.

I guess it didn't copy the grub into the new HD

Anyway, i can do this? please help

Depending of how you installed grub, perhaps you didn't update mbr on the new drive.

i put the grub on the second drive, when it boot, it has options to boot to winxp from the first drive

How do i update the grub? do i have to clone drive or do disc image?

finally got the answer myself...the problem is that when i restore the image to the new hd, i didn't make it an primary partition...so it can't boot..

now, i need to see how to claim the extra 20gb.

use fdisk or cfdisk to fix partitioning and mkfs to make a filesystem
