Radeon 7000 misery

#1 Post by Bibin » Fri Oct 09, 2015 11:09 am

It looks like fglrx no longer supports the Radeon 7000. The open source radeon driver seems to be nearly inadequate for normal tasks. On my X31, simple web browsing is barely tolerable, and even scrolling in urxvt is bit slow.

Has anyone tried to recompile the old fglrx from when it had Radeon 7000 acceleration?

fglrx is closed source, so there's no way to recompile. :(

Have you tried the tweaks in thinkwiki.org? I don't have any Radeon 7000-equipped laptop so I can't test.
