Illuminated keyboard

#1 Post by moijk » Thu Jul 27, 2017 3:17 am

As mentioned, I came from a macbook pro. The t470s have an illuminated keyboard, But it doesn't seem to have any intelligence attached to it. Is it an ambient light sensor that you can use to control it or something? same goes for the screen.
Currently Thinkpad t470s i5-7300u and Thinkpad t61p T7700
Previous: Thinkpad x61s L7500, Thinkpad a22p and Thinkpad 365x

Unfortunately there is no ambient light sensor for Thinkpads thus far.
Neither for the LCD, nor the illuminated keyboard.

But it does not take too long to adjust for this manually; just a few key presses will do!

BTW, you do know that there are two levels of intensity for illuminated keyboard lighting, right?

My X230 has the best of both: a backlit keyboard (Off/dimmed/bright) AND a Thinklight!

1: I doubt mojik cares too much about the ThinkLight coming from a MacBook.

2: If he really want's one, modding one in is not too big of a hassle. This guy modded one in to his Dell Netbook.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
