Trackpad Problems - T440 or Linux?

#1 Post by sinqbad » Mon Apr 23, 2018 11:46 pm

I bought a T440 and immediately put linux on it. The track pad feels a little stiff and is pretty inaccurate like when going to click the remember me and then down to hide my activity this session at the thinkpad forum log in, it kept over shooting the mark. Is this a problem with Thinkpads or with Linux?

Your machine has a crappy clunkpad and should be replaced with a proper SYNAPTICS touchpad+buttons from a T450, such as this:

Do NOT buy a crappy ALPS one that looks like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/263599461742
(compare their backs to see the difference)
