How about Slack?

It seems everyone and their pet parrot has moved to slack. So why not us?

If slack or any other software works for you, then use it. It's a tool so pick the right tool for the job.

I'm thinking of setting some sort of chat / forum for friends because on social media I really no longer feel like posting anything. I was thinking of setting my own Riot (slack-like self hosted) or Forum or perhaps imageboard.
