Anyone know how to make it work? I'm a novice with Linux, so please no geek-speak.

sorry but it would be against copyright laws to call the name of the
library needed to decode
dvds protected by
css2.
BTW: which Distribution are you using?

edit: ok, dumb /me, should read topics.

Now for the important question, once I get the library, how do I install it? I don't know anything about making files or installers, but to use Linux long-enough to learn this stuff, the ability to watch movies on my laptop is essential, frequent-flyer that I am.
Ultimately, I'd like to reduce my Windows partition on my T42p to about 8GB, just enough for a minimal boot and whatever game I am playing at the time.
Other than the DVD issue, Ubuntu is very promising as it recognized my wifi and ethernet (no modem) and gave both sound and SXGA+ resolution wihtout any tweaking.

to install them you have to open up your terminal and then type
apt-get install libdvdcss2
apt-get install "whatever you wan to install"
if you dont know what its called you can run an apt search
apt-cache search dvd
for exmaple
