Which one should I use? KDE or GNOME?

They both have their good and bad points.
KDE is more "Windows" like and Gnome is....well....it's Gnome.
Try them both and see which one you like.
Most distro's include both. If you are looking for a Knoppix type live CD distro try morphix. http://www.morphix.org/
It a knoppix clone and it comes in KDE, Gnome or XFCE.
All very nice but different.
