Thinking about putting Xandros to dual boot from my t42, this is a clean drive that I have taken off the service partition so I am not concerned with the recovery program. Does this work pretty well with IBM? Drivers and what not

Well I picked up a 20gig HD and loaded Xandros 3.0.2 on my t30 and so far it is working alright, the track point is a little less smooth, the touch pad is actually better, the wireless is working great. The HD was free so this is a win win situation.

It's good to see some one actually try Xandros. I think it is one of the more "finished" distros out there. It is not "bleeding edge" but more professional, kind of like Thinkpads.
They will probably be releasing Xandros 4 next month but in the mean time if you want to try the free version
click here and pick the bittorrent download.
The free version has a reduced cd burning speed. Other than that it is identical to the standard version.

Downloading right now, think I'll try it on my desktop and see how it feels compared to 3. Could it be better? Sure am liking 3 so far. Beats paying big bucks for Windows. Not to mention there are a lot of great apps bundled with it. Wish the crossover was free, have not tried it yet but want to install some windows apps to set up my home network.

If you contact Codeweavers and ask nicely they might provide you with a limited time evaluation copy of Crossover Office.
