#1 Post by Ted Frater » Sat Nov 19, 2005 3:53 am

Altho Im a regular reader ive only jusr remembered my login data . I would appreciate the following help.
Ive a A21P running suse 9.3, which for everyones interest installed out of the box, found everything including at long last my isdn pcmcia fritz modem.
Everyting works fine and is rock solid. The only thing ive not been able to get working is the DVD player. My son whose the Linux guru has tried all the suggestions he has been able to find including Mplayer.. For some reason or onother he has had NO luck in getting any of the software he has tried to work. Can anyone help with this one?

I do enjoy the occasional movie when im bored with everything else,

i bet your problem is the CSS-Encryption. Because of legal reasons, no Linux-Distribution i know includes the _lib_ which is needed for _dvd_s to _de_crypt _css_-encryption.

You may look carefully over my text ;-).
now mine: T42 2373-VMH - 1.5 GB RAM, 60 GB HDD, BT, WLAN, SXGA, 9cell

Problem solved.
what I finally did was to do a fresh install of Suse 10. this solved my isdn pcmcia connection problem, now working fine out of the box, and by downloading the reccomended drivers for playing dvd's in suse 10 all is now working fine as well.. :D
