Sound in OSS SuSE 10.0

#1 Post by BigCatAndy » Sun Dec 11, 2005 5:00 pm

Hello everybody!

Perhaps, it sounds stupid, but OSS SuSE 10.0 doesn't install drivers for my sound card, I use TP 600X. The previous version - SuSE 9.1 - had no problems with that. And 10.0 see my card, but has no package named snd-cs46xx... :-(

Does anybody have any idea? Thanks... I'm really thinking of coming back to 9.1 - at least, there I had my mouse working, my speakers playing music, my Thunderbird checking my mails and my sweet BlueFish building my web pages... :-( In 10.0 they are not there...

Regards,
the Cat.

I just installed the Novell ( not OSS) release of Suse 10. Everything is working great! Much better than 9.1 or anything mandriva could hope for. The updated versions of KDE and Gnome are icing on the cake.

Have you tried the eval version yet? (Novell/ Suse does not cripple the eval version). They just call it that for some weird reason.
