Possible to read BIOS version from Linux?

#1 Post by tronic » Sun Apr 30, 2006 1:01 pm

A friend was asking me how to check his BIOS version without having to reboot to BIOS Setup to check.

I'm not quite sure if this is possible with Linux? If it were Windows, I'd just run that utility to check.

Hi,

you can use "dmidecode" for showing the BIOS version.

Best regards,
