Lenovo to shun Linux. That means all must use Windows?

Well, I am speechless!

I think when IBM supported AND offered Linux pre-installed on a TP it was a great thing! for Lenovo to drop it, it is a sad day.....

I can not understand, at least from a $ standpoint why Lenovo would like to alienate the Linux community...Ahhh, big $$$ Mr.Gates..yes! I guess the "kick-back" for using a "legit" version of windows on a ThinkPad/Desktop pays off big $'s!

I simply cannot imagine why? Where is the logic?

The logic is money. Nothing more, nothing less. Linux penetration in the overall scheme of things is pretty low (Windows has 95 percent or more of total user OS market share - i.e., not server). Mr Dell "recommends Windows XP", Mr. HP "recommends Windows XP", Mr. Lenovo "recommends Windows XP", etc., etc. Every newspaper is plastered with this recommendation. So Lenovo is just selling what consumers want.

My only worry with Lenovo is that they will fall over backwards for consumers and forget business. The sadness here is that IBM really was the only manufacturer that took business requirements seriously (in my opinion).
