Wireless B/G Not Working SuSE 10.1

#1 Post by jchryst01 » Fri Jun 30, 2006 7:56 pm

I have a T60p (2623-DDU) with an Intel ipw3945 wireless card running SuSE Linux 10.1. This had been working just fine with my 802.11b access point. Well, I decided to upgrade my access point to a 802.11a/b/g. I got that all set up and it went great - I could connect to the g or a. However the access point did not work out so I went back to my old access point (802.11b). Now I cannot get a good signal with 802.11b. I usually get a signal to noise ratio of 1 (all noise). I have since purchased another access point (a/b/g). I can connect to the "a" just fine but I cannot connect to the "b" or "g" at all. Same issue, signal to noise ratio = 1.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Is something that has to be configured on the card to accept 802.11b/g? I've set just about every configure option using iwconfig and iwpriv.

BTW all of the ap's in my area show a high signal to noise ratio (using iwlist eth1 scan).

Thanks,
Joe
