Slow loading kernel

#1 Post by israel » Thu Sep 07, 2006 1:05 pm

Hello,
I've got a problem.
When I want to load Linux (I've tried on several distributions) and choose from boot manager LinuxOS I see
"Lilo 22..... Loading linux...."
and i takes very much time (about 15 seconds) while on my desktop PC it takes less than 1 second and this PC is rather old.
Anybody knows how to fix it?
thanks

Israel, that's such a general question that without more information it would be hard to tell why linux is loading slow for you. I've found that usually when linux loads with network support but the network isn't connected it will be slow as it tries to connect to the network. Other then that I've never noticed any slowness.
