ATI Watermark lower right corner
ATI Watermark lower right corner
I just installed SLED 10.1 on my new T60p. Everything seemed to go pretty smooth until I downloaded the ATI video driver from the Lenovo site. The driver installed with no problems but when I rebooted there was a 1 inch square ATI watermark over the lower right corner of the screen that said "Unsupported OEM Product ATI". It wouldn't be a big deal if it was just plastered over the desktop... but it covers the taskbar, clock, whatever ends up in the lower right corner of my screen. Google only offered up a couple of links, suggesting that I remove the " logo.xbm" and "logo_mask.xbm" from /etc/ati. No go. The watermark lives on.
Has anybody else out there run into this? It's unnerving when Google comes up empty. I'm a novice with Linux, so maybe I'm overlooking something simple.

Sorry to ask but did you restart the computer after you tired tha? It might be loaded when the module is loaded so either restart or you could also kill x(by killing xdm, gdm or kdm which ever login manager you use i think gdm is the default for fedora but who knows?) and runing sudo rmmod fglrx then starting x (by runing sudo gdm or whatever) Good luck.
same model, same problem
I have recently recived a Thinkpad of the same model (T60p) and I am having the same problem as augustday. Running SLED 10.1.
I have done the same as augustday, removed the logo files in the /etc/ati directory (and rebooted ... several times).
I have been searching around, and can not find a fix for this. Google provides no results for any kind of work around or fix that I have been able to find. I do find others having a similar issue in other forums in posts dating back in Aug 06. Has no one found a solution to this since then?
