FreeBSD on a T43p: Only two Buttons detected

#1 Post by doppelfish » Mon Jan 01, 2007 11:45 am

Hi,

on my shiny new T43p, FreeBSD 5.5-pre insists that the mouse (trackpoint) only has two buttons. Here's 'dmesg | grep psm':

Code: Select all

psm0: current command byte:0047
psm0: <PS/2 Mouse> flags 0x12 irq 12 on atkbdc0
psm0: model Generic PS/2 mouse, device ID 0-00, 2 buttons
psm0: config:00000012, flags:00000008, packet size:3
psm0: syncmask:c0, syncbits:00
Obviously, I'd like the third (actually, the second) button to work ... any ideas?

cheers,

To answer my own question: Disable the TrackPad in the BIOS, and, hey presto, the TrackPoint shows up with three buttons.

6.X branch (6.2 RELEASE at the moment) seems to be more polished & mainained.
