sensors on T41 & Kubuntu 6.10

#1 Post by toad » Mon Feb 12, 2007 3:09 am

Hi,

got a newish T41, put Kubuntu 6.10 on it incl superkaramba and the aero widget. I am not quite sure how to get info on processor temperature and fan speed working though. The aero widget has a plugin but that requires sensors to be installed, which I duly did. Even configured it, but I still get an error message saying the kernel needs to support it.

I don't really care whether I've got access to this data via superkaramba or whatever, main thing is that I get it - does anyone know how?

Cheers

OK, I've worked it out for all those who couldn't wait for the answer :D

This is the file that will tell you how hot you're running:

/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THM0/temperature
