Ubuntu 6.10 - x41Tablet Wacom Problem **solved**

Obligatory preface: Total Linux Noob here --

I finally chunked MS Tablet 2005 on my x41T (erratic cursor issue driving me insane). I then proceeded to follow thinkwiki.org's direction regarding the wacom driver. When I punch in the Terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install wacom-kernel-source xserver-xorg-input-wacom wacom-tools
I get the following:

Code: Select all

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package wacom-kernel-source
Am I completely missing something here? I've also done this with and without the 6.10 disc attached via USB CDRom. I did do a search, and found a bug log at this site: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wacom-tools/+bugs, indicating that this is an issue (unfortunately, no resolution that I can understand). If anyone has the time, a detailed explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Danny

Nevermind all -- I decided to try it again today, and it worked. I'm not sure why it didn't go last night, but I'll figure it out in due time. Unfortunately, I was trying to get the swivel feature to work, and ended up severely messing up the system playing around with root password stuff.

Anyways, I'm in the midst of reinstalling again  guess I can chalk this up to a learning experience.
