Hello,

I have a Thinkpad 600x running Centos 4.4. When I do:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
I get a speed of 237 MHZ.
That Thinkpad 600x comes with a Intel Pentium III of 500 MHZ.
How can I recover the nominal speed ?

Thanks.

I forgot to say that the thinkpad 600X is running the service apmd.
At the boot time The system shows: ACPI : Bios age (1999) fails cutoff (2001), acpi = force is required to enable ACPI.

The 600X at 500MHz does not have SpeedStep and should always run at 500MHz. I have one running CentOS 5, and I will check its speed this weekend.

Check ThinkWiki.org for my article on installing CentOS 5 on a 600X for a kernel parameter to enable CardBus. You may also want to disable the cpuspeed daemon.

I think I made Fn + F11. This swith the power management mode: high performance, automatic or customized.

I better disabled the service apmd.
